Abridged CV

Ignasi Moran, Postdoc Researcher ( +34 93 405 43 57 )
Research interest
My interests lie in the interplay between genetic, epigenomic and transcriptional variability, and the effect of this variability on human disease. During my PhD, I studied the consequences of genetic variation on gene transcription and regulation, in the context of diabetes research. I am currently working on identifying subsets of genomic variants to predict risk of complex disease.

Cecilia Salvoro, Postdoc Researcher ( +34 93 405 43 99 )
Research interest
I am interested in understanding the genomic bases of human diseases, especially the role of rare and low frequency variants. I have experience in genetic mapping of traits (linkage, identity-by-descent) and annotation and filtering of next-generation sequencing data. I am currently expanding my expertise with genome-wide association studies (GWASs) on multiple phenotypes.

Ana Dueso, PhD Student ( +34 93 405 46 01 )
Research interest
Identification of processed pseudogenes in cancer genomes acquired somatically using next generation sequencing data from PanCancer Analysis of Whole Genomes project. This activity contributes to the characterization of genome processes related with the formation and evolution of tumors, as well as classifying them depending on the genetic profile.

Lorena Alonso, PhD Student ( +34 93 405 43 99 )
Research interest
I am interested in the study of complex diseases and how variability can be explained by studying genomic data. In particular, my study is focused in understanding the genetic effect of variant interaction to in the risk of developing Type II Diabetes based in the analysis of GWAS (Genome-wide association study).
